The story
If you g**gle it, you will see, that this error seems to be quite common with nowadays Canon IXUS' cameras. You turn it on and - perhaps after some motor noises - in the display there is: "Lens Error: Restart" or in German "Objektivfehler:Kamerastart". That's it.
Canon neglects a warranty coverage, it is a user error. Oh well.
OK, how to go on from here, especially when there are two possibilities: spend 200EUR for a repair or a new camera, or fix it on your own. There are quite few mentions about this on the web, some are really detailed, but for a different model, like Niggu for the IXUS 60. The 70 is different, but I will show you how to cope with it.

The Bed
After unsuccessfully running around for weeks, from furniture shop to furniture
shop, the decision is made: building an own bed. That can't be so difficult,
can't it?
The construction material was easily picked, it had to be wood. The design was a
little bit more complicated, but solved after a while as well.
Up to the carpenter and joiner and after some discussion about 30 m balks
(9,5cmx9,5cm) of spruce were ordered.

This is what it looked like when it arrived

If you read as fast and much as I do, you run out of storage space for your books sonner or later. So I have been watching the news about eBook Readers very closely during the last years. And guess what? Not much happening in Germany. Nothing. Nada. Rien. There are articles from time to time about new devices and at the end of them you always have to read that the product will NOT be released in Germany for several reasons. Mainly because books have a price fixing, so ebooks could not be cheaper than paperbacks.
Finally I decided that I do not want to wait another 10 years but to buy from somwhere else!
But which one? The most famous is propably the Amazon Kindle. It is available in three versions/generations and it would make sense, when you used to buy most of your books from Amazon anywhay, won't it? But wait, after having a look at the 'Kindle Terms of Use', you feel like biting you toe off. They handle a properitary format (AZW), you can only buy from Amazon and some subcontracters and you are not allowed to transfer the books to another device or other users. WTF? That means I have to stick with the Kindle for the rest of my life or buy all books again if I want to switch to Sony? And you can not even store and read a manual or user guide as PDF there? I don't thing so Amazon!
Then there are a few Sony readers available (Sony just knows how to make good looking stuff and I fall for nice designs). That's more like it, the PRS-700 (Sony's creativity stops when it comes to device names) supports PDF and ePub. It has it's own proprietary format called BroadBand eBook (BBeB). But again, a look at the digital rights management makes you want to swollow your tongue. Nope!
And then I found it: the eSlick from Foxit! Nice basic design, just PDF and TXT and no adhesion contract included. I contacted the sales people, they answered within a few hours, very friendly and polite. After ordering, it took about 5 days for the reader to arrive, very fast.

If you have a homepage and a Twitter account, you do not want to update both everytime you write something. And you neither want to deceide where to write it. Here is the solution. You can build in a little widget to your homepage that shows your Twitterstuff. Second you can install a little tool that sends everything you write as an information to Twitter.
This is what you need to do, when you like something nifty like the widget on your homepage:
Grab the HTML code provided by Twitter here:
http://twitter.com/widgets/which_flash
In Joomla, create a Custom HTML module, give it a Twitterish name, paste the HTML code from above in there, make some adjustments about size and position and then... wonder why it does not work....
Go back to the source code of your module and realize that the pasted HTML code is only glibberish. Swear loud and clearly.
Go back on the web and google the solution! Install a proper HTML editor (like JCE) and make it your default editor. Go back to your module and paste the HTML code again. Save. Go back to your homepage and smile happily.
