The Bed

After unsuccessfully running around for weeks, from furniture shop to furniture

shop, the decision is made: building an own bed. That can't be so difficult,

can't it?

The construction material was easily picked, it had to be wood. The design was a

little bit more complicated, but solved after a while as well.

Up to the carpenter and joiner and after some discussion about 30 m balks

(9,5cmx9,5cm) of spruce were ordered.

This is what it looked like when it arrived

Then the work started. Drill all the holes that you need, grip an orbit sander and an delta sander, sandpaper with different granulations, start with coarse grained and work your way towards the fine granulation. After a few days, everything you eat or drink gets this woody taste. It is propably a good idea to wear a dust mask, I did not manage to breathe under it....

But, this is what it looked like after loads and loads of sanding:

After you are satisfied with your sanding, you need to clean the wood from all the dust and can start to lubricate it with oil.

Oil, let dry, oil, let dry...

Get everything to where it should be and start putting it together:
