A very unlikely Terry Pratchett. This is not the usual Pratchett that you expect. I am still not sure, if I like it, but it is definitely the most violent of his books.
I have read every single book (thirtysomething) of Terry Pratchett and most of them even three or four times by now. He is the only author I am buying the hardcovers, because I can't wait for the paperbacks.Nation left me startled and confused. It is very violent in his descriptions of people dying and it misses almost all of the usual sharp-sighted and (admittedly sometimes vicious) humor. All his recent books ended in a somehow reconciliatory way, not this one.It is a childrens book, so maybe am just too old for it. But I've read some of his 'Book for younger readers' as well and I very much enjoyed them. The Wee Free Men was so funny that I could not stop laughing.
